May Blog 2025
Happy May
Over the years I’ve changed the way I greet each day, in consideration of what I’ve learned and how I feel. What’s most important to me is that I like to ensure that it comes with peace and calm.
A startled start can take a while to settle the nervous system into quietening and then to not remain in a semi shocked state for the remainder of the day. If it happens it happens, and you deal with it then with what you have to help, like the Emergency Essence and or therapeutic grade essential oils like Stress Away, along with some conscious breathing is helpful. And that can be done in a couple of minutes if you’re having to do things in a hurry.
As a practitioner of the Bush Flower Essences, I can make the Emergency Essence if you would like or help with knowing more about the best oils to use, reply to this email, I’m happy to share the info with you.
If you can give yourself some extra time, or maybe going to bed earlier can assist with arising at a slightly earlier time! It’s up to you. We are the ones in charge of how we look after self. And once you implement your own practice or simply your quiet time and connecting in with you, you’ll be so glad that you did, it’s not something that we were taught much about.
I have found that it depends on what’s happening to what I can do. But as mentioned about getting up earlier some days I’ll do that if I’m starting my work very early on the day. For me my morning offerings and peace are just a part of my life that I consider paramount to my wellbeing and to get through situations in my life. I prefer the morning as it sets the day up and it’s done and I feel good.

So, I’ll share a brief outline of how my day begins. I begin simply by laying still in bed using affirmations like ‘I am at peace’, or as Pam Gregory (one of my favourite astrologers) suggests ‘I am welcoming in an expanded consciousness of love’ or ‘my day is filled with miracles’ or simply following my breath and breathing in an out the word ‘love’. Saying those a few times or what you choose will be helpful. It’s mediation and connecting with the breath that enables peace from within and to slowly shift on from any tension that might be there for whatever reason.
Then I will get up and head to the kitchen, take the bush flower essences blend that I am currently using and put the kettle on. I squeeze half or whole lemon into a cup and then quarter fill a measuring jug with a hot water and then fill up to the 2-cup mark with cold water. I pour some of the water in with the lemon juice and drink it along with a few other things like Barry Beach’s liquid turmeric x 1 drop and in a small amount of coconut oil to activate it.
I then head back to bed to then begin writing and taking some homeopathic drops, which are an additional support. The writing I do starts with ten I am grateful for….and then I continue my writing with anything that could be bothering me or excited about, whatever I feel compelled to write. I don’t overthink things I simply write it down. And I note that the first birds of the day have begun to stir with their chirping.
I get up, make the bed, shower and then go into the space where I practice my yoga and begin to set up, I light some candles and turn my diffuser on with essential oils if I haven’t already turned it on when I first got up.
There are some beautiful words that I choose to say to encourage and honour the day. I then choose some cards, and I will see what oracle/messages turn up and note them down along with any other words that I feel compelled to write. I might have questions I would like clarity on so the insights that may present are always interesting. I feel that it’s important to take things in my stride and not overthink things but to see what unfolds.
Then I begin to stretch and ready myself for my yoga practice. Ashtanga yoga is what I choose to practice and have done for about 24 years. I was doing a more laid-back yoga for around 3 or so years before that but found Ashtanga and that is what resonates best with me.
The days that I don’t practice yoga which are Saturdays and what is called a moon day which is either a full moon or a new moon, I get on my rebound and do 20 minutes on that. It’s very good for the lymphatic system and using hand weights as well.
This is a rough outline of what I would call my spiritual practice which is what I am very grateful for as it has supported me on all levels of my being for decades. And that permeates through my day, it feels very good. Even in unchartered territories I know I will be ok, somehow, and can drop out of any arisen fears to acknowledge and then to move on. There can be lingering of issues as life’s situations can go over periods of time. But I am aware not to stay in any negative that’s lurking.
However yours looks, if you have a spiritual practice or not, is entirely up to you of course. Over the years I have added to or moved on from certain aspects, but it helps with any intensity that may well be keeping the excess of verbals in my head going, it moves that on. It’s my own way of living consciously and in awareness of the deeper and profound levels that drive us.
There is a lot going on in this world and how aware we are of that is up to each of us to research and learn about. So, I want go on about that here, other than to say we have chosen to be here now and thus it is important to know that we are loved and how we choose to look after the vessel we get live in this lifetime, is up to us. We have a lot to get through and getting past our initial traumas is important so we can live a great life. Self-care is the go then to love others we can.
